Rodenberger SS class Christmas Party

JAVANESE DINNER
December 6, 2011, at 6:00 PM at the church

About this dinner
This recipe came from a Home Economics teacher as they were called back in the 60s and 70s. It is thought to be as much fun as it is delicious. The ingredients are lined up on a buffet or counter and then, adding them one by one in order, the guest will build a 14 layer dinner!

The guest can add more or less of each layer as they prefer. The teacher would say you can only leave out two layers, but that is pretty flexible. The ingredients, in a given order, are lined up in serving bowls. Each person, using rice as a base, sprinkles on as much or as little of each layer, finishing with a cherry on top! Help encourage every one to try every layer, leaving off no more than two in case there is something you are allergic to or just do not like. (Diana, there is only one meat) Be brave, it is amazing how good this is and fun to make
