BUILDING LOOKS BETTER

The building committee met last night and most members online have received a copy of the minutes of the meeting, but I feel that we are very close to completing the plan that we want at a price that we will be able to fund. We won't have everything including a large new parking lot, but we will have a great church with classrooms for Sunday School and for youth activities. We won't have a basketball gynasium, but we are planning an outdoor recreational area in its place. The committee has done a great job under trying circumstances and I pray that everyone will support their efforts. We are fortunate to gain the services of an experienced retired contractor to assist us in the tough decisions ahead on writing contracts and watching over the construction.

OPTIMIST VIEWS

I am more optimistic about the progress on rebuilding our church. After meeting with several very professional contractors from our local area to the metroplex, the committee has a much better understanding of what needs to be done to redesign the church to meet our modest budget. Our original approach was to design what we would like to have in a perfect world with no budget limitation. We now have a better understanding of many aspects that will still provide a worship, educational and recreational facility that we can enjoy and one that we can afford.

Monday night, November 6 we will meet with a contractor, the architect and designer to start work on value engineering the facility. I ask that everyone pray for us to ask God to grant us the wisdom we need to make the right decisions.
