FIRST WEDDING IN NEW CHURCH BUILDING

On April 17,2011 at the conclusion of the Palm Sunday church service Nancy Johnston and Charles Rodenberger were united in marriage. This was the first wedding in the new church building. A reception and meal was enjoyed by all in the fellowship hall after the ceremony.

CHURCH FISH FRY

The Landscape Committee sponsored a fish fry to raise funds to landscape the highway side of the church. It was a success as over $700 was raised. A few fishermen members caught the fish and ladies of the church furnished the coleslaw, potato salad, and beans. A good time was had by all.

NEW MEMBER

Sherri Maxwell joined FUMC by transfer of membership from Somerset Baptist Church, Somerset, Tx. on April 3,2011. Sherri is an optometrist who recently retired from the USAF with her husband who is also a doctor. They are building a house west of Cottonwood using solar power. She is a Bible scholar and a great asset to Charles Rodenberger's adult Sunday school class.
